James H. Gellert is the co-founder and Executive Chair of RapidRatings, the leading financial health data and analytics company. He retired as CEO of RapidRatings in July 2023 after over a decade leading the firm.  Mr. Gellert is a recognized international authority on corporate counterparty risk management, supply chain risk, the financial health of public and private businesses and US rating agency regulation.

Mr. Gellert began his career in investment banking, most recently running a business for Deutsche Bank bringing non-US corporates, financial institutions and sovereign entities into the US public and private debt capital markets.  Since entering the technology world, he has been CEO of four private companies – three in data, risk and media, and one, an investment banking boutique focused on the financial information and risk industries. He sold three of these companies and acquired RapidRatings to focus entirely on financial risk for credit and supply chain risk professionals.

RapidRatings and Mr. Gellert have received awards and accolades for risk management in credit and supply chain, and Mr. Gellert has been awarded the “Pros to Know” title in the supply chain industry. He is a regular guest on broadcast news outlets, including CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and Yahoo! Finance; and quoted frequently in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Forbes, Fortune, MarketWatch, and in a wide variety of industry trade publications. He has testified as an expert witness to the Senate Banking Committee and three times to the US House of Representatives Finance Committee’s subcommittees on Capital Markets and Oversight and Investigations. He has also been a frequently invited panelist and speaker at the US Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulators. Mr. Gellert is also a frequent speaker at risk and supply chain industry events.
