EUCOM Enduring Challenges - Dr. Kevin Cohen

Deputy Commander, Special Advisor, U.S. European Command

Dr Kevin Cohen is the Special Advisor to the U.S. European Command Deputy Commander. In this role, as a Department of Defense civilian under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act, he facilitates the development, demonstration, and integration of enabling capabilities to address critical operational challenges across the European Theater.
Previously, Dr. Cohen worked for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory, where he provided technical leadership for a wide range of programs:

•    Assistant Head: Air, Missile & Maritime Defense Technology Division, 2015-2018
•    Assistant Head: ISR & Tactical Systems Division, 2014-2015
•    Leader: Advanced Capabilities and Systems Group, 2013-2014
•    Leader: Tactical Defense Systems Group, 2006-2013
•    Associate Leader: Tactical Defense Systems Group, 2005-2006
•    Assistant Leader: Surveillance Systems Group, 2003-2004
•    Technical Staff: Kwajalein Field Site Team, 1999-2003
•    Technical Staff: Air Defense Systems Group, 1995-1999

Dr. Cohen also lectured at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a Large and Complex System Development Course and multiple Innovation Workshops.
Dr. Cohen holds a Doctorate of Philosophy and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University. He also completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.
